Content Restrictions

We restricted access to items in Turkey in response to legal requests from the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (ICTA), Turkish courts, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Customs and Trade, and the Access Providers Union. Content was restricted pursuant to the Internet Act (Law No. 5651), which covers a range of offences including personal rights violations, personal privacy, defamation of Ataturk, and the unauthorized sale of regulated goods.

Internet Disruptions

We are aware of disruptions affecting access to Facebook products and services in Turkey that took place during July, August, October, and December 2016. These disruptions followed security and terrorism-related incidents.
